How long can students access Sonia Online after they graduate?
Students can have access to Sonia Online for as long as you allow, as long as you are a client.
If you are using single sign-on (SSO), students can continue to sign in to Sonia Online with their University credentials for as long as their credentials are valid. If their credentials expire with the University, you can switch them to Sonia authentication, meaning they will have a password that is unique to Sonia.
NOTE: Your Sonia instance must be set up with the "mixed" authentication option in order to switch them from SSO to Sonia authentication. For questions or assistance with this, contact Sonia Support.
What if we don't want them to access Sonia Online after graduation?
Once the students have completed their placement requirements, on the Search tab of the Students module, search on an item that would be common across many students; for example, a portion of the placement group code or a Subject/Semester/Year combination.
On the ribbon at the top, click the "Sonia Online Sign In" button. Check "set access" and then "Locked", and uncheck "Approved". This will lock the students' accounts, preventing them from being able to log in.
Are these students counted toward my license quota?
No, your license quota only includes students who are in placement during your license year.
If we allow them to log in, what can they see?
Students will be able to see everything they could see before they graduated, including their placement history and forms.
Once you "complete" their placement group, placement details are moved to the student's History tab. From there, they can download a Placement Transcript.
Here is an example:
The transcript opens in a new tab, and they can click the down arrow button to download the report.
