The kind of report(s) needed will vary, depending on your discipline/faculty, university/college, accreditation body, or country.
Our answer is usually this: what pieces of data do you need to put together?
Depending on your data needs, you might find what you're looking for in the Reports tab of the Sonia client. Select a Category, read the report descriptions, and click the magnifying glass at the right to see if the selected report meets your needs. This article goes into more detail on that.
If you need to customize your data, you can opt to create an Ad Hoc report, or you can abandon the Reports tab and go to a specific module (e.g., Students, Sites, Placement Groups). On the Search page of each module, enter your search criteria (about whom or what do you need these pieces of data), and then click the Export button on the ribbon to export selected bits of data about the people or items in your search results.
If additional guidance is needed, contact your Product Expert.
For more customization options, consider using the Sonia API to export data to a reporting tool such as Microsoft's Power BI. See this related article for more details.
