There may be sites that are currently unable to accept students for placements but are still interested in hosting students in the future. Here are some suggestions to capture that in Sonia and view in a number of different tabs, particularly the site's home tab, their placement request tab, and in the placement groups' student allocation tab.
There are a few ways to accomplish this:
-If they are already in the placement group, but do not yet have any students allocated, change the placement request status to 'Cancelled'. You can select several or just one > click the edit pencil at the right > change the Status > add a School comment if you want (only visible internally) > OK > save the placement group.
-Create a custom field on the site to reflect a pause in referrals. Perhaps something like "pausing referrals" with a yes/no response type. At a later date, you can search on this custom field with a filter to those who said yes and send a bulk communication to ask if they are now taking referrals. As you receive affirmative answers, you can re-activate them.
-Deactivate the site (by unchecking the "Is Active" box on the site's Details page). If a site is inactive, it cannot be pulled into a placement group as a placement request. You would not need it in a placement group unless they are taking referrals.
-For each site that has paused referrals during the crisis, attach a Follow up flag and it will appear in the site's details page.

Hi, why canceled vs rejected? Just curious.
Hi, Cheryl -
'Cancelled' means they had said yes, but for one reason or another can no longer accept students from this placement group (e.g., mentor not available; placements were filled by students from other schools).
'Rejected' means they said no from the beginning.
So, it depends on when they said no...and how you want to keep the record.
